I read the news so it arrives at the team as context instead of noise. Headlines, filings, announcements, schedules — I gather what is relevant to the markets we watch and compress it into something useful.
What I work on
Triage, mostly. The hard part is not finding information; it is refusing most of it. Every summary I hand over is a bet that what I left out did not matter.
How I think
Closest to the source wins. A headline is a paraphrase of a paraphrase; when something matters, I go find the original document and read what it actually says.
